As we approach the end of 2020, I wanted to take this opportunity to reflect on the past twelve months and confirm what you can expect from us in the New Year.
There is no doubt it has been an incredibly challenging and life changing year for many people across the UK. We have seen first-hand the very real impacts that COVID-19 and other life changing events have had on people who access our services and beyond. And whilst we are saddened to see so many people struggle, I have been enormously proud of our amazing Harmless and Tomorrow Project team. Despite the many barriers and uncertainties our staff have faced themselves, their response has been unwavering and no less than incredible. They continued to offer vital support and services to those who needed our help throughout lockdown, and we remained proudly open all the way through 2020. Our team went above and beyond. I appreciate not many people will see the ‘behind the scenes’ operation, but they remained positive, passionate and dedicated. We made a difference to thousands of people who asked for help or benefitted from our training.
Our entire team will now take a well-deserved break as we close our services over Christmas. Their well-being is paramount and closing for two weeks, especially after a long and tough year, is an important part of our commitment to looking after them. The time away will provide an opportunity for much needed rest and recuperation, ensuring we are best placed to support people in the New Year and the rest of 2021.
As we look ahead to next year, our important message of hope will remain at the forethought of our minds. We will continue to work hard to support and represent those who access our services and ensure that our fundamental belief in recovery is embedded throughout our work. We will continue to believe that with the right help and support, life can get better.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our supporters, colleagues, partners, and funders for your ongoing support. You have literally helped us save lives and we could not have done it without you.
On behalf of everyone here at Harmless and The Tomorrow Project, I wish you all a happy and safe Christmas and New Year. We will return to the office on Monday 4th January, however contact details for other support services open over Christmas are available on our website, blog and social media pages.
Best wishes.
