Continuing with our recent blogs introducing our team members, our training team are going to share a little about themselves with you to allow you to get to know who we all are and a little bit more about each of us!
My name is Shaun.
I became a part of the Harmless family as a trainer back in July 2021 after spending a number of years working within training and operational roles in the private healthcare sector. Alongside my experience from previous roles, I also have experience as a young carer for a family member with a severe mental health condition and have myself experienced and recovered from suicidal crisis.
The great work that Harmless does across all areas and pathways is something I am passionate about and proud to be a part of, working to challenge stigma, and breaking down any barriers that are in place for organisations providing support or for individuals receiving support.
As a trainer, I incorporate my own lived experience both personally and in a carer capacity when delivering training sessions. The training sessions we deliver are incredibly valuable as we focus on upskilling and empowering people around self-harm, suicide and mental health awareness as a whole giving them the knowledge and confidence to be able to provide support in line with best practice and guidance.
