Market Harborough Outreach

On Saturday 22nd October 2022 a community and volunteer fair helped residents find out how lend a hand the town and raised awareness of Leicestershire projects including Harmless & The Tomorrow Project. Tom and Fiona from the Bereavement team attended the event, which was organised by Harborough District Council and local MP Neil O’Brien.
Charities, local groups, sports clubs, and other organisations had the opportunity to connect with the public and engage in meaningful conversations. It was a relaxed space in the hub of the town with the local radio station advertising the event in the square. We made good contacts with other stall holders’ schemes and exchanged contact details with the general public and health care professionals who knew about of service and said it was good to see our service within the community, reaching out. It was a useful to have our presence visible, a few people did find the subject matter difficult, but it was important for us to be able to have those difficult conversations as part of breaking down the stigma. See if you can spot us in the group photo below!
