National Self Harm Awareness Day 2024

WHAT IS NATIONAL SELF HARM AWARENESS DAY?
Each year around the world, 1st March is Self Harm Awareness Day (sometimes also known as Self Injury Awareness Day). In the UK, it is an opportunity for everyone across the country to speak with one voice to raise awareness around what is often a very misunderstood topic. Partners and individuals from outside of the sector are also encouraged to get involved to help spread the message as widely as possible, particularly across social media where we encourage use of the hashtag #SelfHarmAwarenessDay

HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?
We are always looking for new partners to join Self Harm Awareness Day. You don’t need to be involved in mental health or the wider healthcare sector – in fact, we encourage partnerships with as diverse a range of organisations and individuals as possible. Harmless can provide you with a media pack in advance of the day and work with you to help coordinate your effort. The pack includes poster, graphics, factsheet and suggested social media posts. We are always grateful for support, regardless of the size or profile of your organisation. Printing off a poster to put up at your workplace or sharing your support on social media all help to get the message out to a wider audience.
