Harmless is delighted to announce the launch of OASIS (Open Access Support and Information Service), a new drop-in support offer designed to provide immediate connection, guidance and practical support for people awaiting specialist services.
Recognising that the period between referral and specialist intervention can often be one of the most challenging stages of an individual’s journey, OASIS has been developed to ensure that people do not have to face this time alone. The service will initially be available to individuals on Harmless’ self harm and suicide bereavement waiting lists across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire from Tuesday 9 June 2026, with services in Leicestershire and Derbyshire set to follow.
OASIS provides a welcoming, accessible environment where people can access support without the need for appointments, referrals or formal bookings. Whether attending for themselves or alongside someone they support, visitors will have the opportunity to connect with specialist staff, access practical advice and receive support tailored to their immediate needs. The service has been designed to offer flexibility, allowing individuals to engage in a way that works for them.
Through OASIS, attendees can benefit from:
- Direct Guidance
Our specialist staff are on-site to answer your questions and help you navigate the system. - Immediate Support
Access practical interventions and advice clinics designed to help you manage the day-to-day. - Consistent Care
Use the service as a regular anchor for your week accessing a structured intervention or drop in for a one-off session when things feel particularly heavy. - Support for Carers
We provide dedicated space for family members and carers to seek advice and practical resources.
OASIS reflects Harmless’ commitment to ensuring that nobody feels unsupported while waiting for specialist care. By creating a calm, compassionate and welcoming space, the service offers individuals the opportunity to access meaningful support, gain clarity about their next steps and build connections during what can often be a difficult and uncertain time.
The launch of OASIS marks an important step in strengthening support pathways across the region, helping to ensure that people can access timely assistance when they need it most.
No referral. No booking. Just support.
