Thank you for everything… just being here each week and actually listening. I’ve never had that before. I feel hopeful for my future, which I haven’t done for a long time.
About Us

Harmless is the centre of excellence for self harm and suicide prevention.
We are a user-led organisation providing a range of services about self harm and suicide including support, information, training and consultancy to people in need, their friends and families, and professionals. Suicide prevention and suicide bereavement services are delivered through our sister service The Tomorrow Project.
Harmless was established by people who understand self harm. At the heart of our service is a real sense of hope. We know that with the right support and help, life can get better. Working closely with the people we help and other stakeholders, we constantly evolve our approach to respond to the developing demands on our service and to affect change in the wider sector.
Harmless is a Community Interest Company (CIC). This is a company with social aims, which operates like a charity but with a dedication to sustainability. That means that whilst we seek grant and charitable funding, we also operate a training business (the Academy at Harmless) which generates income. All money raised through the Academy goes straight back into funding our vital life-saving services.
Mission Statement
We shall provide support, information, training, and consultancy to communities about self harm, suicide prevention and postvention to promote health and recovery, reduce isolation and distress, and increase awareness and competence in delivering interventions.
Vision
To be the leading service provider in the field of self harm, by providing ease of access to service for people who self harm, their friends, families and professionals. In doing so we shall reduce the rate and severity of self harm in the UK, and promote health, hope and recovery of people who are in psychological distress and do, or are at risk of self harm.
