The Academy at Harmless is running a number of FREE, fully-funded courses around Mental Health to enable our communities to feel empowered when offering support to those who might be struggling. All of our Nottingham courses are designed to help you with the following:
- Develop an understanding of mental health, mental ill health and mental wellbeing (including the MH continuum).
- Identify protective and risk factors that can influence mental health
- Spot the signs and symptoms of poor mental health (including stress and burnout)
- Develop skill and confidence in having conversations about mental health and wellbeing
- Understand ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences) for young people and adults as well as other trauma and its impact on mental health Enhance effective responses to a range of different situations, including acute distress
- Enhance confidence, working practice, knowledge and skills
- Understand the direct and wider impacts of mental health conditions
- Develop skills to respond to and support someone with mental ill health including an understanding of local services and how to support/facilitate access for individuals
- Understand the relationship between self harm, mental health and suicide
Whether you work with young people, adults or older adults you will gain an awareness of the deeper impact Mental Health can have on a huge number of people. Not only awareness, but an understanding of how to respond and offer support.
What you need:
- Courses are 4 hours long, and there are a number of morning and afternoon sessions available. Take your pick for a time that suits you.
- A laptop or computer is best to complete the course to allow you to engage with other attendees and the trainer
Is this training in-person, or online?
The training is accessible online and are held on Microsoft Teams.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes! All our courses are CPD-accredited. Once you complete the feedback form after the session, you will automatically receive your certificate.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, you can book your place up to a day before the training takes place. This can be done through our Eventbrite page here.
