Harmless Takes Centre Stage: A Night of Hope and Support

Tonight, Harmless is honoured to be the chosen beneficiary of the Nottinghamshire Law Society’s annual fundraising ball at the prestigious East Midlands Conference Centre. This event, attended by hundreds of legal professionals, marks a significant moment for our organisation and the vital work we do in suicide prevention.

For many years, the landscape of charitable giving has presented challenges for organisations like ours. While causes focused on animal welfare or general mental health often received widespread support, suicide prevention was frequently overlooked. This fact was backed up by our own research.

Therefore, Nottinghamshire Law Society’s decision to support Harmless is not just a gesture of generosity – it’s a powerful statement of recognition and a sign of changing attitudes. It reflects a growing understanding of the critical need for effective suicide prevention services. We are deeply grateful for their commitment and partnership.

While the glamour of a fundraising ball might seem appealing, for our team – dedicated individuals who often work behind the scenes – stepping into the spotlight is a unique and somewhat daunting experience. At our core, we are a group passionate about making a difference, but often more comfortable in supporting roles.

Tonight, however, we embrace this opportunity with humility and determination. Our CEO Caroline will address the audience, sharing the story of Harmless and the impact of our work. The words spoken tonight carry a significant weight. They have the potential to raise crucial funds and – more importantly – to inspire conversations that could save lives.

We understand the responsibility that comes with this platform. We are committed to representing Harmless with integrity and conveying the urgency of our mission. Every donation, every conversation sparked, brings us closer to a future where suicide is no longer a leading cause of preventable death.

Join us in spirit as we embark on this important evening. We will share updates and outcomes in the coming days, and we thank you for your continued support. Together, we can make a difference.

If reading this you would also like to support our work – either through a one-off contribution or monthly donation – you can do so here.
