Voluntary Sector Awards 2023

By Lisa Williamson (Suicide Bereavement Service Lead)

On Wednesday evening (1st November), I was invited to attend The Voluntary Sector Awards 2023 as I had been shortlisted for the Manager of the Year Award… and I won!

This annual celebration is organised and hosted by the amazing team at the Chesterfield Volunteer Centre. It was a wonderful evening, surrounded by so many inspiring people and organisations who all work tirelessly to improve the lives of those in our community. In such challenging times, when there is so much pressure on organisations, it really was a privilege to be able to share the wonderful work we all do and celebrate with those who inspire us to be best we can possibly be. Congratulations to everyone.

I was absolutely thrilled to win this award and felt very proud of the kind words which were written about me:
Lisa is well known across the Voluntary Sector as an incredibly committed and inspiring manager. The Tomorrow Project offers support to those bereaved by suicide, a job which should be classed as more of a calling. Lisa supports and inspires people to move forward and heal when all seems lost, she is a kind and caring presence to everyone she supports.

Thank you x
