Under Caroline’s leadership, Harmless has grown to become one of the country’s leading providers of self harm support with a range of services including one-to-one support, group therapy and training for professionals, as well as a crisis text service and specialist bereavement support.
Recognised as an expert in the fields of self harm and suicide prevention, Caroline has published numerous articles and research studies on the subjects. She has presented at conferences around the world, while her work has been acknowledged with numerous awards, including the Nottingham Post Women in Business Award and the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.
An influential voice in policy debates, Caroline consistently champions the needs of those experiencing psychological distress and ensures that Harmless remains at the forefront of self harm and suicide prevention.

Laura is particularly passionate about Harmless and The Tomorrow Project because she used Harmless’ services during her adolescence. Now in her twenties, she is proud to lead the services that supported her in the past.
In addition to her leadership role, Laura remains client-facing, and her area of specialism is suicide crisis. Laura is especially passionate about LGBTQIA+ mental health and suicide prevention, particularly for transgender and/or asexual individuals.
Outside of work, Laura is most content when she is watching Doctor Who or reading a book in the company of her 15-year-old rescue dog, Robbie.

Shaun joined Harmless in 2021 after spending several years in training and operational roles within the private healthcare sector and continues to deliver training within his role which is something he is passionate about. Her primary interests focus on cognition, particularly executive functions and their impact on learning, memory, and mental health. She is also passionate about lifelong learning, mental health and well-being, the influence of childhood trauma and resilience on later life outcomes, and the effects of digital technologies on cognition and mental well-being.
In her free time, Božana enjoys sewing, gardening, baking, and taking long walks in nature.

Chloe has a BSc in Clinical Psychology. She is now studying for a PhD in Psychology at the University of Wolverhampton, where she is also part of the Applied Cognition and Individual Differences special interest research group and recently won the award for best PhD presentation at the Psychology Postgraduate Day. She has lived experience of self harm and suicidal ideation, and hopes that by conducting research at Harmless, the organisation will be able to influence policy so that those struggling will no longer have to manage alone.

Hemali has a corporate background but her own lived experience of self harm and living with mental health conditions were instrumental in her drive to join the Harmless team. She committed to helping people, and wants to provide hope and a safe space to those in need.
Hemali is particularly passionate about working within the community, researching support schemes and local charities to create accessible links to empower individuals in receiving help, as well as advocating for people too.
Outside of work she loves to swim, cook up scrappy vegan meals and attempt to keep up with her Spanish on Duo-lingo.

With a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Applied Neuropsychology, they possess a solid understanding of psychological and neuropsychological principles and their application in various complex mental health contexts.
Jaskirat’s experience spans numerous psychological fields, ranging from ADHD to self harm and suicide. In these roles, they led clinical NHS service evaluations, conducted assessments, contributed to diagnostic decision-making, and provided direct crisis intervention for clients.
Outside of work, Jaskirat enjoys staying active through sports and cherishes spending time with friends and family, creating meaningful memories whenever the opportunity arises.

Jess has lived experience of suicide bereavement, having lost her partner in 2018. She was subsequently a Harmless service user, and can testify that The Tomorrow Project has provided life-changing, invaluable support for her and for her peers.
Jess organises an annual memorial football game, Henry’s Match, which has built a passionate community and cultural legacy at Bingham Town.
Jess has a Bachelors degree in Human Geography, which informed her passion for community and equitable service provision. She has volunteered extensively with displaced people in Lesvos, as well as leading a breakfast service for vulnerable individuals in Birmingham.
In her free time, Jess is a yogi, a traveller and an avid charity-shopper – no community market is safe, and no whimsical trinket can evade her!

Sam moved to the UK in 2022 to pursue a Master’s in Counselling and Psychotherapy and worked as a person-centred therapist at the Human Flourishing Project, providing long-term therapy to clients. Her experience has been rooted in creating a safe, compassionate and understanding space for everyone she supports.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with dogs, unwinding with a good Netflix series and has recently developed a love for hiking.

Simran's specific interests are in emotional regulation, nervous system regulation, somatic practices and mindfulness. She has a background in providing support to individuals going through difficult times, breaking down how trauma has impacted their lives and how they can move through it.
Simran has a strong academic foundation with a BSc in Psychology with Sociology and a MSc in Applied Neuropsychology, as well as experience as a Special Educational Needs TA, and an Assistant Psychologist within a memory clinic.
Outside of work, Simran likes to read psychology self-help books, to keep informed of evidence-based practices that allow people to build better life-management tools. She also enjoys staying active at the gym and walking her German Shepherd, as well as spending time with family and friends.

Having studied Psychology and Educational Development at Nottingham Trent University as a mature student, Vicky is able to combine her knowledge of the two disciplines in the role she loves. Having also been through a very difficult menopause, Vicky is now passionate about raising awareness around its impact on women’s mental health and the resulting consequences for work, family and relationships.
Vicky mostly works remotely from her small cottage in North Devon where friends and family are regular visitors and she has found the perfect work / life balance.
