Trans Day of Visibility is an annual awareness day celebrated around the world. The day is dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of transgender and gender nonconforming people while raising awareness of the work that still needs to be done to achieve trans justice.
Did you know that according to the Trans Mental Health Survey 2012, almost half (48%) of trans people in Britain have attempted suicide at least once; 84% have thought about it and more than half (55%) have been diagnosed with depression at some point.
Now, more than ever, training in mental health and suicide prevention and intervention is vital to help marginalised and vulnerable groups, particularly the trans community, and this is where we come in!
Harmless have been recognised as the Centre of Excellence and provide free CPD accredited training to help equip everyone with the skills and confidence to support people with mental health difficulties, who self-harm or who are suicidal.
